Country decorations are a key ingredient for tying together the overall theme in your county home. Complete your country home decorating process with country accessories that fit your style and personality.

My husband likes to say that we have a Christmas house because of the country decorations that we use. We have gingerbread men in the kitchen and snowmen in my living room - yes, year round!

Actually, you'll find country accessories, such as, snowmen, at various places in my home. I can't help it - I just love snowmen! One year, I just couldn't bring myself to pack them up after the holidays, so it became a theme in my living room.

Just be comfortable in knowing that you can decorate with what you like. There are really no rules to worry about. There is no right or wrong way in the country home decorating process, simply allow your personality to shine.

In your kitchen or dining room, display your casual dinnerware on open shelves, a wrought iron plate rack, or in a hutch. Your dinnerware, when displayed, make great country decorations and add a nice decorative touch.

Even the rug you choose, is one of the main decorations in your home. A colorful braided rug is a wonderful country accessory and adds warmth to a room.

Of course, there is always the crafty way of obtaining the country accents and country accessories that you want. Bring some outside in. Pinecones and flowers are perfect for this purpose.

Try making a wreath with eucalyptus and raffia. They are really pretty simple. All you need is

Wire wreath from a craft store
Eucalyptus - plain green or a mix of colors (green, red, yellow)
Raffia to make a bow

Disperse the eucalyptus around the wire wreath until full. The branches can stick out and doesn't have to make a perfect circle. Make sure that you have all of the wire covered. Decide if you want the bow to go on the top or bottom, and tie it on. That's it!
