Paint Paneling - How To Paint Wood Paneling
You can paint paneling for an inexpensive update to a room instead of replacing it.
When we bought our home, it was a definite "fixer upper". Among the many things that needed to be fixed, there were also many cosmetic changes that needed to be made. For example, the family room wood paneling!
The family room was decorated with extremely dark brown wood paneling, and we most definitely wanted to change it. We discovered that it was made of good quality wood, and it wasn't simply hung on the drywall. It was, in fact, in place of the drywall.
This meant that replacing it was not an option, as that would have been a huge expense. However, it was just too dark, and we were determined to do something with it.
After searching the internet for information on painting paneling, I found an article explaining this process, and was happy to find out that it was quite simple to paint wood paneling.
HOW TO PAINT PANELING
1. Lightly sand the paneling
2. Wipe off walls to remove dust
3. Apply good quality primer
4. Pick out a great country color and apply the paint
