Wallcovering Ideas for Country Home Wallcovering

WALLPAPER

Wallpaper is a wonderful choice for the wallcovering application in a room. There are so many prints, colors, patterns, and themes to choose from. You can decorate with wallpaper alone or in combination with paint or wainscoting. Wallpaper, just as rich color, has a definite and immediate warming affect in a room.

Wallpaper can be used to add contrast to solid colored walls. It can also contribute additional colors to the room. You may choose to pull some of these colors out for your accent pieces or accessories, such as, curtains, pillows, throw blankets, rugs, etc.

The Internet has been extremely helpful in my wallpaper searches. You can sit back, and take your time looking for the perfect pattern, print or theme.

I usually print out a page with the wallpaper or border choice that I'm considering and take it to the room where it would be applied. This gives me a better idea of how that pattern, color, or theme flows with the adjoining room or any room which can be seen from that point.

If you need a physical piece of the wallpaper to get an even better idea of the texture and color, you could obtain a sample from the wallpaper store. This is helpful when you are not sure of the colors in the potential wallpaper choice, when considering it in combination with an existing paint color.

You can visit this online store for a great selection of wallpaper patterns. I have purchased wallpaper from them, and their site allows you to view the patterns easily online by category. American Blinds, Wallpaper & More

WOOD PANELING

Another country style wallcovering option would be wainscoting (as mentioned above) or beadboard paneling. Wainscoting is typically used for the bottom portion of the wall with either paint or wallpaper for the top. Beadboard, which is full sheets of paneling, can be used for a wainscoting project. This works nicely in creating the "farmhouse" look.

For another style of wainscoting learn how to create your own panel wainscoting.
